Obituary for Mary Artz Chitty

Mary Artz Chitty, 62, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at her home in Rosenberg, TX. She was born August 23, 1956 in Elm Grove, Wisconsin to William and Louise Artz, and spent her childhood in Galesburg, IL. Mary received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, where she was a proud member of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority and formed many lifelong friendships. She was retired from Campbell’s Soup Company and spent her career in the food industry and contributed greatly to the Houston Food Bank. Mary was a member of River Pointe Church in Sugar Land. Mary was truly a people person and wanted most in life to make people smile, she never met a stranger and left a touching impression on all that she met.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, John Mark Chitty, son, Christopher Chitty, 3 brothers, Daniel, Bill and Dave Artz. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Houston Food Bank are appreciated. 

A memorial service for Mary will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 22 at River Pointe Church, 5000 Ransom Road, Richmond, TX., Lakeside building.
