Jon Vanier

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Jon A. Vanier, 63, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at his home in Panama City Beach.
He was born March 19, 1956, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Richard and Martha Bollman England. Jon is survived by his wife, Kim Vanier; son, Dylan Farmer; daughters, Abbey Myers and Miranda Davis (Greg Davis); granddaughter, Isabella Davis; mother and father, Richard and Martha England; and brothers and sisters, Jay Vanier (Sue Vanier), Janet Johnson, Judy Singer (Tony Singer) and Jim Vanier.

Jon graduated from Paxton High School, attended Eureka College, Parkland Community College and graduated from Carl Sandburg College. Soon after, Jon served an apprenticeship through Local 25 Plumbers and Pipefitters, eventually becoming an instructor. Later, he was selected to serve as the Local 25 business agent for Galesburg, Quincy and Cordova Nuclear Power Plant. Jon retired from Local 25 in 2012. Also, for many years, he served on the board and was president of the Galesburg Sanitary District.

To celebrate his life, Jon would like family and friends to join together at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Duffy's Sports Bar, 67 S. Cherry St., Galesburg.
