Glen Gustafson

Glen Alan Gustafson, 62, of Galesburg, crossed the final finish line of life on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. 

Glen was born on October 1, 1956, in Galesburg. He was the son of William and Elaine (Williams) Gustafson, Jr. Glen married Patty Wessels on May 25, 1986 in Boulder Colorado. Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage. Glen is survived by his wife, Patty, at home; two children, Daniel (Alisha Stark) Gustafson of Galesburg, and Natalie (David) Ingle of Victoria; a brother William Gustafson, III of Prairie City; sister, Christina Campbell of North Henderson; and three grandchildren, Aston Ingle, Adley Ingle, and Blaize Stark. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Glen was a 1974 graduate of Galesburg High School. He worked in the distribution center of Blick Art Materials for 37 years, retiring in 2017. Glen was a member of Corpus Christi. Glen and Patty shared a passion for running. He participated, volunteered, and was a race director for many road races in the area. Glen was a board member for the Galesburg Road Runners Club. He was an avid Cubs fan. Glen also played guitar for the Soloman Sage Band. Glen had a huge heart and was always willing to volunteer and help others. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. 

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 2-4 pm at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg. Funeral Service will be Monday, August 5, 2019, 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
